On 2 October, our 7 Italian Erasmus students volunteered to plant flower bulbs in our garden at AIC. The idea was to plant bulbous flowering plant bulbs at the beginning of the autumn season and photo document the whole process as it was a noble work done by their own hands. This April Avicenna International College organised the German Travel and Study programme called Lindau Deutsch camp for the second time in a row. The programme was fully funded by AIC, the students had to pay for their train tickets only. This time around we had 11 GFP students and one high school student from Grade 11 accompanied by Frau Ágota as the leader of German language education at AIC and Herr Steve, AIC principal and Travel and Study programme manager. At Avicenna we started in this year of 2023 to give our most dedicated and hard-working students unparalleled opportunities to take part in travel and study programmes in the so-called Erasmus Group Mobilities as part of our Erasmus projects, supported by the EU Commission, intent on a full swing internationalisation. On the 14. of May 29 students from two EFP classes with their beloved teachers and the AIC guides decided to join the tour to a small castle town,Visegrád, 45 km north of Budapest in the most photographed sight of the Danube Band. Our train departed from the Western Railway Station at 9.08 and we had a 40 mins journey on a brand new double-decker train to Nagymaros-Visegrád. AIC students and colleagues met at the Visitor Centre 30 mins before the tour guide started. During this time we arranged some administration. Having gone through strict control at the entrance we were given headsets to wear during the tour. After the English-speaking tour guide had given us an initial description about the historical period of the constructions we were guarded to the City Side Staircase or „Golden Stairway” (building’s Northside), which used to belong to the Upper House.
