On the 24th of November, AIC students visited Gül Baba's tomb in the Buda district of Rózsadomb. Gül Baba (born in Merzifon, present-day Turkey) was a Dervish member of the Ottoman empire in Buda, who died in 1541. This beautiful türbe (meaning tomb in Turkish) is the northernmost Islamic pilgrimage site in the world and is regarded as a significant part of Hungary's historical heritage as it was left unharmed during the Habsburg invasion and the consequent World Wars.

On the 10th of June, we revived the good old tradition of holding a Graduation Ceremony at the Avicenna. During the two years of Covid it wasn’t possible to hold such a high-profile gathering so this year we did it, as a much-anticipated social event. It was a heart-warming sight to see parents and relatives and teachers of our 10 graduating students filling one of our largest classrooms, room 314 on the first floor. Avicenna International College, a unique English-language secondary school and university preparatory institution that has been active for more than 25 years is hosted its first International Student Festival on May 27, 2022. At the event, 11 active groups out of the 15 different nationalities represented at the institution had the opportunity to showcase an exclusive slice of their own cultural background. Namely, students studying at AIC from Egypt, India, Iran, China, Korea, Hungary, Nigeria, Russia, Syria, Turkey, and Vietnam entertain each other and the invited guests of the institution with their talents developed in poetry, music, dance, and exotic sports. Turkish National Education Authority Accepts AIC High School Diploma The Education Authority of the Republic of Turkey has recently accredited the first diploma of Avicenna International College and has issued "DENKLIK BELGESI" which allows students from Turkey and other countries to continue their studies at any Turkish university (governmental and private). As a result, many Turkish and international students from Turkey are now applying to Avicenna International High School program to be able to continue their higher education in Turkey and other European countries.

Academic Year 2019 - 2020 Avicenna Foundation Programs start on September 16, 2019. Avicenna International College is celebrating its 25th anniversary, "25 Years of Excellence". The high school programs of this academic year have already started and next week on the 16th of September our colleagues will warmly welcome the new students joining the foundation programs.
